We work with elders, spiritual leaders, and community knowledge-keepers to record, translate, and share oral wisdom across generations. African Traditional Religions and their diasporic expressions (Ifá, Vodun, Santería, Candomblé, Palo, Haitian Vodou, etc.) are practiced by over 100 million people globally, spanning West and Central Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil, the United States, and Europe. In addition, there are millions more in the diaspora seeking to reconnect with ancestral heritage or learn the spiritual languages and rituals of their lineage.
Ejiogbe Institute already reaches an international audience across North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa, and my artwork — rooted in these traditions — has been copied, adopted, and circulated worldwide by festivals, educators, artists, and content creators, proving both the demand and cultural impact of my work.
Ejiogbe Voices directly addresses the urgent need to preserve and transmit endangered cultural knowledge. Within its first three years, the platform will:
- Record and preserve over 500 hours of oral traditions from diverse African and diasporic communities.
- Provide multilingual access in English, Yoruba, Haitian Kreyòl, Portuguese, and more, reaching listeners across at least 30 countries.
- Generate sustainable income streams for 50+ elders and cultural practitioners through honoraria and revenue sharing.
- Create a publicly accessible, searchable archive with transcripts and cultural notes for educators, researchers, and community members.
